not a lot of issues so far in north carolina, especially central north carolina. along the coast, we are still here is a live look clouds overread right now. we are dry and temperatures on the cooler side of things the wet weather pretty much wrapped up for most of us here. we are left with a few isolated showers east of i-95 but most of the wet weather has completely pulled out of the area right now. you are looking at tropical storm hermine. the center of circulation all the way down here. so the precipitation is very impacting parts of virginia, maryland and even parts of delaware this morning with some of that heavy rain and some of that wind that areas along the north carolina coast experienced last night and into the early morning hours. 69 degrees in raleigh. 71 degrees in durham, 66 in lewisburg, rocky mount and goldsboro. 60 is the temperature in atlantic coast for a few days. clear tomorrow as well. we are drying out today. we'll still see clouds linger through the first part of today, drying out. high temperature, warmer weather but drier weather for th

cbs north carolina's a.j. joins us now from oak island wit >> now, when we first got to oak island, the waves were not what they're like right now. we've been talking to people who live here. they are saying that's the one thing noticeable with this storm coming is just the intensity of the ocean. we are actually having to move up on the beach because this storm surge is just continuing to push up the coast. now, friday is the day that people within brunswick county say that they are ready for this storm, specifically officials services have specific hours on friday they are preparing for the storm. the one thing they are fore kusing on for this area is the possibility of flooding. that's what a lot of the people who live on oak island say they are ready for as well. we also spoke to some officials within the town of oak island. she says they are ready essentially for what the storm will bring. >> have to keep an eye out on the winds and the -- the storm surge and if we need to evacuation, we will, but we're n
